What To Expect

Rev. Jeddah Vailakis, Non-Denominational Wedding Minister, Buddhist Minister.

You can expect my full presence.  I love hearing your story!  I find it fascinating to hear how couples meet and when that moment of knowing “this is the one”  came.   I want to know what bonds you to one another and how love has changed you.  There is a uniquness to your story – a jewel.  When you share what that  jewel is with me, it  brings a smile to my heart.
.

You can expect me to listen to your story with complete openness.  You can also  expect  me to deliver a wedding ceremony with sincerity,  joy and elegance.  A wedding ceremony that speaks to your heart and to the hearts of your guests.  I will guide you by calming your fears if you need calming, and provide you with resources:  wedding readings, wedding vows, ring exchange options, wedding blessings, and wedding exercises.  I also provide you with a questionnaire – a process of filling out that is very introspective and enriching and of course provides material for me that I can use for designing your ceremony.

A word about Interfaith Weddings….. the  desire to find love and share our lives with another human being runs deep in the human spirit.  The decision to join lives with our beloved is universal,  not cultural or religious specific.  This is the voice I speak from, the voice that connects us as human beings.  Our humanity is the foundation, not our religious differences.   A wedding ceremony is one that should bring people together regardless of their diverse backgrounds.  This does not mean that we cannot celebrate our cultural differences.  If you want to include a Chuppa, Breaking of the Glass, Unity Candle, Sand Unity, Hand Fasting, Blessing of the Rings, or any other multitude of cultural wedding traditions, feel assured that they will be delivered in a way that brings everyone together.   After all, all these rituals are universal in meaning.
